Financial Analyst / Job Cost Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail oriented individual who can accurately and efficiently process large amounts of data to provide relevant feedback to decision makers.  This person should be highly organized, have excellent communications skills, and be prepared to offer superior customer service.  The primary focus in this role will be on job costing, sales, and margins.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in month end close process by completing detailed review of job cost transactions, providing notes and questions to branch personnel, and identifying large variances for potential journal entry. Review Operating Expenses to identify variances to trend and/or budget.   Assist in the preparation of financial review packages for Leadership Team.
  • Prepare/Distribute monthly reports to monitor WIP, A/R, A/P, and any other reserve balances as necessary.
  • Review current month job cost activity, identify errors and patterns, and address with appropriate department. Make recommendations for enhancements to upper management. 
  • Adhoc Reporting for sales, margins, usage, and other miscellaneous reports as requested by the business to aid in further improvement.
  • Assist in compiling customer level data for the annual budget, including quarterly/monthly/weekly updates.
  • Participate in annual third party audits, compiling/reviewing detailed support for selected samples.
  • Bid review for accuracy and alignment to budget expectations

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in a finance related role
  • SAP experience ideal
  • Advanced Excel skills a must
  • Ability to complete projects timely while managing multiple deadlines and responsibilities
  • Construction industry experience highly preferred
