Overview
The primary responsibility of the Estimating Associate is to estimate and provide quantities for bid, contracting, and ordering purposes for the following disciplines:
- Flooring Materials
- Wall Materials
- Countertops
- Pavers
Responsibilities
- Secure and review all bid documents including drawings, addendums, bid forms, etc.
- Attend pre-bid and new builder meetings as necessary
- Review plans, specifications, selections, and diagrams for accurate information
- Review plans, specifications, selections, and diagrams to identify product location and application requirements
- Request and organize all data necessary for project submittals
- Create custom diagrams per material, per plan or per lot as necessary
- Process requests for review of material issues such as UCR (Under Construction Repairs) and material shortages. Return findings and adjust banked data if needed
- Work directly with other departments to clarify all discrepancies
- Submit and maintain all takeoff data on the proper forms and in the proper format
- Take ownership of assigned accounts and record all work on a daily tracker
- Take all required breaks and lunch periods and record daily and accurately on timecard as required by law and Company policy and procedure
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Digital and hard blueprint deciphering capabilities
- Ability to visualize 3D data from 2D information a must
- Strong computer skills (All Microsoft products; Excel, Word, &, Outlook)
- Strong math and problem-solving skills a must
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and to adapt to changes a must
- Ability and willingness to work both in a team environment and alone without constant supervision with a high-level ability to manage your own time a must
- Maintaining a proper attitude when work assignments change and/or other team members need assistance
- Ability to self-prioritize work
Preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Bilingual experience preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)
- Knowledge of Flooring systems
- Onsite Field/Project and/or installation experience
- Minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Callidus and/or RFMS Measure knowledge preferred
